I think hes trying to say its a black label game, IE not a greatest hits reprint

Some black label (original release) games are worth a good amount of money. For instance, Silent Hill as a black label in good condition is worth $50 or more. The cd art is different/better on it too. Unfortunately, my copy of this has a booklet cover, but the guts of the booklet are gone. I would have LOVED to sell it for a good chunk of change!

I re-read it, and I think you were right, he does specify black disc.

Time to Kill was a greatest hit though (in the US).

When they refer to "black" version they mean the original release, where the cd artwork is black in some areas, as opposed to the RED or GREEN "best of" re-prints that later sold for cheaper.

PS1 Greatest Hits have a green label.  PS2 have red.  Though I have seen quite a few PS2 GH titles that are black label with a red GH labe over the shrink wrap.
