Neotec / Game suggestions needed
« on: June 01, 2009, 03:34:31 pm »
Really I'm needing some "what would you do" suggestions.

I aquired a pair of San Fransisco rush machines both had been pretty much stripped out, but between the two I was able to build one MINUS all the boards. The one I threw together had a monitor tube, but no chassis, the other unit had nothing. I originally planned on just taking that out and throwing a 25" K7000 I have here ready to go...... then I realized these had Medium res 27" Neotec's in them.
 :banghead:
I had planned on just doing a bit of re-wiring for some standard res driving games. (kind of making it a generic driving cab)
So now what do I do ?

a. modify the monitor brackets and just go with the 25"

b. I have a few of the Neotec 2700 series chassis here, condition unknown I got with a box of stuff. So I could repair the 27"...... but it would be medium resolution.
(unless these can do standard as well, I dunno)

If I go with b. then I would have to find some other games for it. (medium res)
The odds of getting a decent price on a COMPLETE set of boards for the SF Rush is slim to none.
I've had a few scenarios run through my head, but more or less hit a brick wall and complicated a simple project so to speak.

So what would you do?

Best I could get with a standard Ohm meter -

Green/Yellow - 9.0
Blue/Red - 0.6

I just didn't want to go through the trouble of fixing one of these Neotec chassis I have if all I can get out of the thing is Medium Resolution.

I see now that the 2700 is Standard resolution and the 2701 is Medium resolution........ I'll have to dig through all the chassis I have again to see exactly which I have handy. (of course all needing repaired)

If I have a 2700 handy then that would be a good thing.... IF the yoke is close enough to work with it.

The other thing that concerns me is the tube itself, I have already read many bad things about the Zenith tubes in these..... and guess which tube I have.

For a moment already I have leaned towards just throwing a 25" WG in there and be done with it. The dimensions aren't terribly far off and I have three of those ready to go.

Anybody know off hand what the yoke measurements would be for an NT-2700 (cga) ?

I think I have one of those chassis here, gotta double check to be certain.
