XBox 360 Drive Firmware Flashing Question
« on: May 29, 2009, 12:30:01 am »
Guys,

I have a few spare XBox 360 dvd drives laying around (Samsung and BenQ) that I would like to Flash with the 0800 Firmware so I can connect them to my PC to use with XBC instead of purchasing a Kreon drive.

I've never flashed the Firmware in these drives before, so I'm eager to learn how.

What all do I need to accomplish this task?  Can I put these drives into an External USB 2.0 SATA enclosure?

Any help/experiences would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

it should be same as flashing all drives. same way but with different firmwares. you might be interested in selling me your sammy? I might be in the need(well not me but a friend but I will be the one fixing his xbox). I am not entirely sure how the process works but I can find out and post info here.

Hey SNAAKE,

I'm going to use these drives (Hopefully) as replacements for Kreon drives, so I won't be selling them.

I've never flashed a XBox 360 drive before, so I don't even know where to beging finding an easy to follow guide.  If you do find out some info., please post it here.  Thanks.

pinballjim,

Thanks for that link.  So, I just need that power adapter and a PCI SATA Controller Card?  Is there any way to hook up the XBox 360 dvd drive to an external USB SATA enclosure to use with my laptop or do I need a desktop to do the flashing?

Thanks northerngames.  How exactly does it differ from the previous way to do things?

Why bother with that 360 modification USB drive when you can do it fast and easy in Windows with Jungleflasher?
