FE with REAL real-time configuration
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:34:52 pm »
Probably most people wouldn't want this. Or, you could just toggle it on and off. But wouldn't it be neat to be able to be able to select right from the game list each game's directory? Meaning, at least if only using one instance of mame*, no need for multi-mame or whatever.

*Of course, multiple mame selections would be nice, too. Say, one for single player configs, one for two player, different video settings, etc.

I think he means so you can set individual games to use different Mame versions rather than use an app like MultiMame. I believe GameEx supports multiple versions of Mame now and I think there are quite a few that do now. I'm not sure about doing this from inside the FE though, as most FE's have their configuration program external to the FE.

AtomicFe does that via its exception mecanism.

But if you mean from inside the FE  : you select a game ,then you choose what mame you want and then it run the game.   It is easly doable with a little plug'in in Atomic.
