Omitted Caps in G07 cap kit?
« on: May 11, 2009, 07:21:45 pm »
Anyone know why most G07 cap kits do not include C520 (3.3uf 50v), C301(3.3uf 50v)?

When capkits first started coming out in the late 1980's, those capacitors were not going bad. Many of the capkits today are being made up from lists made 20 years ago and never updated.

Those two capacitors are going bad now and I wish all capkit suppliers would include those. Remember, the Electrohome G07 is now 29 years old and electrolytic capacitors go bad with age regardless of whether or not they get used.

electrolytic capacitors [ can ] go bad with age regardless of whether or not they get used.

which is why i got into the habit of checking the replacements before using them . ( i hate callbacks )
a few times the replacement has been WORSE than the "bad" cap....
