Ok,


So I decided I wanted hi score abilities.... I read that it's not too hard to compile your own version, so I did just that.... Followed documentation, etc...

I ended up with a mame.exe that was 30mb in size... (big)

My mame directory now looks like this:



That seems kinda small to all the folders I saw before compiling.... Do all I really need is what's listed above?

PS. I'm using maximus arcade as a frontend...

I don't know what "movies" is about..

you probably could do with a "cfg" folder and a "ini" folder.

If you're playing games that need sound samples you need a "samples" folder

The rest (snap, folders, cabinet, flyers etc) is up to you.

Mame will create most of the folders it needs to run & save its info.  You just need to add the folders that you supply the data: roms, samples, artwork, etc.
