CPWizard not listing ROMS
«

I'm trying to get my computer configured and I'm having issues with CPWizard. I'm using ver. 2.17 and ver. 110 of MAME. Following the install instructions, when I try and Preview from CPWizard, I don't get a list of my ROMS. The list is blank. The cpwizard.log file shows:
[884] 5/4/2009 10:36:15 AM: SendMessage (InterComm) -> IPC_Server Failed To Send Message Id:c Str:
[884] 5/4/2009 10:36:21 AM: ERROR @ GetParentROM (MameManager)

Any ideas?

have you set the path to your mame.exe and your mame.ini in cpwizard and you have to make sure the rom path in mame.ini is correct.

Yes. That is what is so strange. I even wiped out my mame.ini and recreated it think i might have screwed it up somewhere along the way, but no joy.
I'm wondering if something is whacky with my build of mame. I was thinking of downloading ver .106 and recompiling it so I can also have hi score and no-nags.

That was it. I downloaded ver .106, editted the mame.ini, changed path info in CPWizard, and now all is well. Even though My other mame had the rom info in the ini, it wasn't picking it up. Very strange, but I'm moving forward.

I'm positive it is something with my build of Mame. No worries. I've got it working now.
