Behold...The FUTURAMA bartop
« on: May 01, 2009, 05:41:22 pm »
Just like many others I too have the virus......
Here's my second project (the other one isn't even finished but thank God I'm not the only one without the 100 percent completion achievement  ;D )

This is the FUTURAMA bartop:
running on XP
frontend: Hyperspin with Ledblinky

hardware:
EEE-box
15 inch LCD (upside down)
I-pac
U360
Ledwiz

Here you can see the 8 illuminated dots for the 2/4/8 way direction indicator (OK only 4 at this shot but you catch my drift)  :blah:
also in the front the button says credit (red color) and the other 3 buttons are green (diffcult to get a nice shot of the colored buttons

And here a shot of the 1 player button (again..difficult to get a good picture)

I'm not a real WIP type of guy so I waited until it was like 90 percent finished (again  :-[ ) but hopefully this will make it to a 100 before I get other ideas (maybe a pinball cabinet or fruitmachine)

Looks great.  I like the thin lines of the unit.   One question:   Why did you mount the LCD upside down?

That's because of the space behind the backside of the monitor (this way there was room to fit two adapters) + I use the speakers from the monitor and that sounds better coming from the top of the screen (I did cross the wires so that the sound comes out the correct channel)  ;)

I like it. Nice, clean and neat, but I'd have a hell of a time getting a bartop sized lime green box in the house  :)

It took me a while to decide to go for that color....... (I had my doubts) ???
But the green and red are the same colors as the planet express spaceship....I thought that with these colors the theme of the bartop would go further than the CP and Marquee.
Most of the bartops are not that colorfull I agree....(and do not hurt the eyes so much  8) )

But my girlfriend likes it alot so I must have done something right  :o yes that scares me somewhat.......she probably needs something.......  :-\
