Video Game Hall of Fame
« on: April 30, 2009, 08:29:13 am »
This was in my hometown newspaper this morning:

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2009904300366

What literally caught my eye was Billy Mitchell's hair in the picture.   You don't wake up expecting to see him on the front page of the newspaper.

Might be interesting if they pull it off.   Especially if they are able to stock it with a lot of vintage games.

SURE. They couldn't do that when I lived in Marshalltown...

It's unfortunate that only money is driving this effort, but whatever. Wondering how this will sit, or combine, with Fun Stop in the TG sense of things.

Why didn't they do something 20+ years ago then if it's that big of a deal to them?
Walter Day has already spoken about giving up anything to do with Twin Galaxies once before, then what?
Billy Mitchell certainly won't be around the place much.
A non-profit organization running the place, gonna be hard to get anything built and stocked comparable to several other places already in existence if they want to be "Video Game Capital of the World".

I swear the beginning of that article reads almost identical to articles from 20+ years ago.
