oddly enough Im in the same boat.

Im tempted to just try to use Flash to edit a animated intro and just output it to a video file.

After Effects is kinda time consuming to learn. But youtube has some good tutorials if you do some searching.

My girlfriend is an art student, and has tons of textbooks on pretty much all of the adobe products. I would love to help if you need some reading matereal. I have one in front of me named Flash + after Effects by chris jackson. I think she bought it originally for 75, now it is selling for 25 at:

http://www.amazon.com/Flash-After-Effects-Chris-Jackson/dp/0240810317/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240777265&sr=8-1

I think it may be time for kenswift to post a bit of a tutorial for the awesome effects he has worked out.

hehe yeh i wish some one would. lol...

the idea i have and i have all the clips sort of half done is My logo on screen then a alien xenomorph pops in from the right and the logo looks at it and then runs off and then the screen goes black and a alien shoot forward at you ... the problem i have is masking it all off so it gives the effect i need lol ..

I'm pretty good with After Effects. (To a lesser extent, Flash)

If you'd let me know what you're looking for, I'm sure I could help you out.

Me too.  I do all kinds of video work with after effects.  What are you trying to do?
