Need new monitor for my Mario bro's in dk cabinet
« on: April 23, 2009, 09:27:18 pm »
I am looking for another monitor to put in my Mario bro's (in a DK cabinet) I really dont want to use another sayno unless I find one cheap and restored. If I go another route I plan on using Mikes arcades "Color Inverter and sound amp board" but I dont know what monitor will fit in the cabinet and what brand will work with the inverter? It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction I am a newb at this.
Thanks,
Matt

I have a DK with a Tovis monitor in it. The Tovis is the same as the Vision Pro.
You just have to swap the tube and chassis onto the Sanyo frame so you can then use the original mounting hardware.
You should be able to use any 19" monitor and swap the tube and chassis.

Thanks, will the monitor come with the cables to run it and will I need a new power cable with the adapter?

I have never bought a new monitor and not sure if they come with a connector for the video,if not you can make one once you get it and know what kind you need.
If your cab has a plug on the bottom  like the DK's then you could plug the monitor in there, assuming the monitor can run on 100v.
You have to check the specs as some monitors run from 90v- 220v and don't need an isolation transformer.
If not you can splice the power cord into the terminal block that is before the ISO of after if the monitor needs an ISO.

That 100v outlet in the bottom of the cab IS isolated .... just wanted to note that.

A monitor that can run on 100v can be plugged into the outlet on the bottom of the cab whether it needs an ISO or not.
I would get a monitor and go from there.
