Ok, so I'm 99% done configuring my arcade cab now  :applaud:, there are only minor issues left which I'm going to (hopefully) solve today.

One of the issues is related to effects in MAME. Every game works perfectly now, except that after I added the effect overlay 'Aperture1x2rb_Aaron' some games tend to only cover 1/4 of the screen (e.g. Turtles in Time). Is this a common problem and does anyone know a way around this?

I'm using MA 2.10 and MameUI32 v0.130u3.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Do you have the automatic resolution switching on? If so, turn it off and see if that helps. Also, make sure it isn't auto-switching the refresh rate.

I have both Resolution > Size: Auto and Refresh: Auto in MameUI32 v.130u3, but I can't select anything else than 'Auto' from the dropdown boxes.

Funny thing is that the only game it has happened to so far is the Turtles-game.   :dunno

Select your display instead of AUTO and see if it lets you change those.

Select your display instead of AUTO and see if it lets you change those.

When I selected the display I could choose from different resolutions and refresh rates. I tried every resolution leaving the refresh at 60hz (LCD) but it didn't have any impact on the game.

Solved it, had to choose View: Pixel Aspect. Works perfect now. :)

Doesn't sound like that should've caused it, but I'm glad it works.

Thanks. :) Now I only have to find out why GENS doesn't work with Maximus Arcade (sound gets all distorted), then I can finish my cabinet.

Used GENS+ instead. Works perfectly. Time to mount the bezel, the backpanel and then .. it's done. Finally!  :notworthy: :notworthy:
