House of the Dead 3 Crosshair
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:25:16 pm »
I just got House of the Dead 3 working on my cabinet and it works pretty well but most people get hung up on the crosshair not following the gun until the trigger is pulled.

Does anyone know a way to disable the crosshair all together?

Or just hit the f1 key, it will remember per game. Being that there are very few gun games it would only take a small amount of time to go through the games and hit the f1 key. :dunno

Sol I think. You may be able to adjust the options to make it less noticeable, but I could say pretty confidently unless you figure out a way to hack the game yourself, you are sol.

You might want to take a look for the graphic object for the cursor.  Lots of games load it from a file.  If so, you might be able to just replace it with a transparent cursor.

You could use Troubleshooter to 'semi' hide the crosshair, even to use two guns for a great two player game.

Man that game is a mess. I just dumped all the source files included, you could literally change every graphic and sprite in the game. I think that the crosshair files are either built into the exe, or are inside one of the piles of .xmx files. I was able to get a plugin for the .dds files and it is not one of those. Anyone know what a .xmx file may be, all I have seen is reference to a autocad package file, but it doesn't look relevant.

do you have the problem that when playing two player the crosshairs don't move they just show up where you just fired also? does anyone know how to fix this so the crosshairs follow where the gun is pointing

BTW
I am using EMS top guns and trouble shooter drivers
