ill spare some details

i installed my new monitor and when powered up, there are slanted lines running from corner to corner

its got to be an ac problem of sum kind

any thoughts??

Thin lines about an inch or so apart all across the screen diagonally?

heres another pic. Notice the random color dots at the bottom of the screen. This is really bothering me. someone please help me!!!

Plug it in to a different computer and see if it still does it. If it does then you've got a dodgy monitor and you should take it back.

its not a mamed arcade....its runnin off a 60-1 board.

something must have happened when i changed the monitor frames. it looked just fine when i plugged it up in the old frame. and when i changed it over, it looked fine to. DAMNIT!!!

after plugging up my umk3 board, still does the same thing. i geuss the thing is coming out. are there any techs out there that may know whats causing the problem? any advicewould be great.

i would return it, but its not in the original frame.

That's my initial though as well after seeing the pics.

Check all grounding cables.

Is there any kind of power supply or transformer that may be too close?
(not sure how your cab is setup)

i got the main ac line running into my cabinet. the pos/neg runs to the one/off switch and the ground runs to an outlet along with pos/neg after the switch. the monitor is plugged into the outlet, as well as another ac line that runs to power supply for the jamma board. the only thing that may be causing the problem is the grounding that runs along the corners of the monitor chassis. the 2 wires that connect the chassis grounds to the monitors pcb were to short when i mounted everything in the cabinets old, original chassis, so i had to extend them. the wires that connect to the pcb were a silver color, where as the wire i used to extend them were a brass color. Could this cause a problem?

did you try adjusting monitor Horizontal Hold?

The reason I mentioned it is because it did not look like random pixels. looks like there is a pattern at 45 degree.

no. i didnt know that would cause the random skrewed up pixels at the top and bottom of the screen

That particular issue is hard to tell what's going on from just that one pic. Can't see it in the first ones. Almost looks like a tube convergence type thing, but wouldn't know why it's just those specific spots.

Is it there for all the games?

Cant those diagonal lines happen if the screen setting is to high on the back of the flyback? or the brightness?

Those lines would be very thin, almost drawn lines equally spaced apart.

He has more of what some might call a "jailbar" effect going on from the looks of it.

well, i managed to get rid of the lines, but those damn messed up pixels are still poping up at the top and bottom of the screen!

also, after being on for about 10 mins, the monitor goes blank. IDEAS?!?

if indeed a thermal issue, i suggest technician in a can (freeze spray) to aid in locating the culprit .
( but, use with caution in high humidity conditions)

most properly functioning semiconductor circuits will not have a reaction to a temperature change .
what you will look for is ANY change, wether good or bad . then have a closer look at that circuit/device

NEVER USE FREEZE SPRAY ON A CRT

thermal shock on hot glass WILL cause it to break
