Need a SANWA monitor expert!!!
« on: April 07, 2009, 06:21:54 pm »
Please someone take a look at the pics I posted here...the first one is the original cable that came with the monitor a SANWA 29-PFX-A.

The GRAY and WHITE cable is power
the GREEN is GROUND

The BLUE and BROWN go to the board on the back of the monitor...I'm guessing is DEGAUSS but I'm not 100% sure

The next pic is a cable made by MONMOTHA (thnx dude!)
The problem is that I don't know where the BLUE and BROWN cable connect to. The button in the front of the monitor makes the sound of degauss but nothing really happens when pressed only clicking sounds.

Need to find out where these 2 other cables connect to since the others go from the plug to the board. The guy who sold me the monitor is not responding to my emails anymore so i'm guessing he will not help me here.

I borrowed a degauss ring thing to clear the screen but there are colors going bad again and have no way to restore them again. I'm guessing this is why the degauss is on the monitor to correct the colors when this happens.

So that everybody else can see what I mentioned to you, my guess is that those wires are for a dedicated degauss activation switch.  This would activate the integral degauss in a manner no different from using the OSD remote.

If you're still having gaussing issues, you probably still have some sort of magnetic field near your monitor.

Those two wires should be going to your button assembly in some fashion.
If there is nothing going from your manual degauss button directly to your monitor, then it isn't doing anything.

Is there a two pin/wire plug/connector or anything of the such on your button assembly?

Maybe a pic of the button assembly would help.

Look at the top right (next to the black/white cable of the front panel).

You don't need to wire a switch to it though as you can degauss via the front control plate
