imho, too cluttered.  Also, white outlines around some characters...

Putting in Link is a good idea, he's pretty ambiguous.  Fits the theme.

So I guess you don't stand by this statement, then:

Oh yeah about the name (ManCade8000) its not the name that the cab will end up with but I think its funny because my Bro's were saying they wanted a manly name so I dubbed it that.

it will be named what ever we vote it will be named. right now I put the name on there to get the font and look I want. when we come up with some names I will post them so everyone can see or even help vote on the name. the art work can be easily changed thanks to photoshop. I have asked my friends to come up with some names but they are not too creative so it is taking awhile. maybe this weekend when we have a BBQ I will try to get them to throw some Ideas around. I might even start cutting the wood now that I have all the measurements and the wood all marked to go. I just have trouble finding time to get things done because I work 12hrs a day. but enough of my sally sob story. we will get some names soon.

with the help of Trebeck's input I have edited the crazy marquee design I had to this new look. I will hopefully be collaborating with Trebeck for the side art. here is the new marquee look. (subject to change).

:) I got some wood working done!!!! I used a jigsaw and a table to do this job.

I cant believe it that I actually started the wood working.

my younger brother is holding up the side panel and he is 6 feet tall and it is taller than him. you could imagine how big the cab will be.

cutting out the 2nd side panel.

the 2 panels together. I think I am going to get a flush bit for the router to make sure both panels are exactly alike. that's all I got done today but soon I will do more. oh the room I am building the cab is also a project that we are working on. this will be the game room. we already got a poker table and we ordered a pool table. latter we will have a projector for we could watch the UFC fight's and football. I can't wait to get more done. :applaud:

I am thinking of making it the pause button. but I am not sure I will keep that because I don't want people to be able to pause during competitions to distract the players involved. but then again I think we will come up with a rule like automatic disqualification. but mainly I was thinking of that button more use for my nieces and nephews. they keep asking me to have that option.

Hey everyone, I have been doing a lot of tinkering with the cpu that will be doing the emulating. mainly I have been trying to get all the emulators to run with no problems. the one emulator that is giving me most of the hard time is pcsx2 its a ps2 emulator. my friends want to be able to play tekken 5. I am not 100% sure if maximus arcade is compatible but I am going to give it a try. speaking about Maximus Arcade I have been playing around with the theme editor and with a little help of photoshop I came up with a theme for my cab.

this is what the MA theme looked like originally.

this is the theme I came up with.

the logo screen

loading screen

these are the emu select screens. I am going to add background music and a intro.
If any one knows about a solution to my pcsx2 problem I'm all ears. thanks :)

To my knowledge, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think PS2 emulation is anywhere near acceptable levels yet in terms of FPS.

My 60 gig PS3 emulates the PS2 pretty well.   ;)

the screen I run the program on is a 32inch TV. so I don't get that from looking at it. if it is that bad to anyone  that stand in front of it I will change it. :banghead:

I don't think I can buy one right now, but one of my buddies has one and is the one who want's to play the games so I will try and convince him to let me hook it up the the cab for testing. dose the ps3 run the iso's of the ps2 from the hard drive?

No, you stick an actual PS2 disc in the PS3.

ok since most people that got to see the red and black theme did not like the hypnotizing feel. I decided to change it up a bit and stick to something more simple. I hope this one is better and easier in the eyes.

I kind of like it as well it seams to fit the theme/marquee look.

well I haven't got a chance to go get some wood working done and it is getting on my nerves, but soon I will get more done.

PS2 emulation is actually flawless if you have a powerful CPU/GPU. I play FFXII in 1920x1200 with 4xAA and the FPS never drops below 60fps. :) http://pcsx2.net/
