Proper DPI for an image being sent out to print?

How would I go about fixing this image to increase the DPI for a better print, and what is the reccommended DPI that you guys use?

I sent this photo to mamemarquees and got a reply asking if I wanted it in a higher resolution as the photo I sent was only 76dpi, I had no idea on how to increase it so I will see what it looks like and if I dont like it I would like to buy another but with a better image based off of your responses.

Most printing / when your working on arcade art files a common resolution is generally 300dpi. You can always drop it into a program called "vector magic" or use adobe's illustrator and use "live trace". Of course the best way to do it is to hand trace. This way you can increase it to whatever size without loosing picture quality.
