Wells Gardner Model 19K4914 fix or replace or do nothing?
« on: March 27, 2009, 01:35:47 pm »
Hi Everyone

Bit of a newbie posing a quick question to get steered in the right direction.

I have a original guantlet arcade I bought  a while back and the monitor is burnt in a fair bit, still it works fine, however the refresh rate is wavering / the image is wobbling?  other than that, all other features are fine, no problems..

what would be causing the image wobble or produce this noticeable waver???  Can I fiddle with the controls, perhaps replace the power supply? or be content it is still working after all these years...

many thanks
Alex

electrolytic capacitors are a common failure in many devices.
if all original components, it is a safe bet that some have changed value.

if ur handy with a soldering iron, replacing caps would be a good place to begin.

capacitor kits seem to be popular here .
post the make/model , and i'm sure someone can provide a kit number/source for you

replacing the crt is the best way to fix phosphor burn
and to keep the drives down a bit on the new one    ;)

Should be a listing of ALL caps for a K4900.
