problem with a rom
« on: March 22, 2009, 04:52:28 pm »
ok so I have a star trek rom. it plays just fine with out the sound. There is no sound.  where can I get it or does it even have it?

I know there was about 7 boards in the arcade version. 2 sound/ speech, 3 were for the game, and i think 2 were for video.  i think thats right.

but why is there no sounds?

Later MAME versions emulate the sound and speech without the need of external samples.
If your MAME version is earlier than 0.105 or so, you'll need the sample pack to be placed in your "SAMPLES" folder.
You can get this from here:  http://samples.mameworld.info/Older%20Samples.htm
