Darius triple screen does not use monitor width

When running Darius and Darius II triple-screen side by side on a 1920x1200 monitor, only 1600 pixels width are used. MAME sees the screen as a 1600x1200 4:3 screen, probably because the separate screens of Darius were 4:3 13 inch CRT's. Is there any way to let Darius use the whole width?
