quick dimension question
« on: March 09, 2009, 12:32:27 am »
On most upright cabinets the horizontal spanning panels (front, speaker, and back panels) aren't usually mounted flush with the edge of the sides. I was wondering on average how far from flush with the edge these panels are usually recessed. I was kinda eyeballing it earlier and I over thought it so much that soon everything seemed too far or too short.

I would go with 1/2" - 3/4" but some like it deeper. If you're going to add T-molding it will add another 1/4" to the depth.

I used 3/4" on mine.

I prefer 1/2" before T-molding is on.

Up to you.
