I have an issue with my gateway presentation monitor. When the display setings are 32 bit the vertical and horizontal games all display on the screen but the color is way off. When I put the display setting at 16 bit, the color is perfect but the horizontal games will not display. Instead I get a scrolling screen. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I don't see any difference in operation between 32 and 16 bit.

I'd say it bumps your refresh rate possibly when you change modes. Make sure that you are running quickrez or the like to swith your resses. Then from there play with the vhold on your monitor. As long as you have a working picture I would say that at least your cables are wired correctly.

they do 640x480-800X600

no higher no lower from what I understand so if if you going lower or higher it may not work right.

I am still having issues. Here are some more details. The monitor is a gateway 2000 DL31-1. I am running windows 2000. The monitor is being recognized as a plug and play monitor. I have a Nvidea Geforce TI 4600 video card.
When I set the resolution to 800x600 60 htz (and any other resolution) I still get the messed up screen on vertical games. When I plug the computer up to a standard size desktop monitor everything works fine.
Are there any adjustments on the inside of the gateway destination case? Has anyone else used this monitor with Windows 2000?

if it works fine on horizonal games then the monitor is probably fine and it is the vertical games software/video settings that are not set right and the monitor cannot handle them.

what is the display setting at for a vertical game that it is having trouble?

if using mame press tab and find what it is set for display wise in the video part.

if the 31" cannot display or check it due to a bad display then use the working monitor to find what it is running when the game is running
