Artwork for my new custom Control Panel - with PSD
« on: March 06, 2009, 06:41:57 pm »
This is the artwork for the control panel I am finishing.  The control panel is custom panel built.   The artwork heavily resembles blue lightning artwork done at Mame Marquees, since I'm already using their side art and marquee.

Full Panel

Player 1

Player 3

Player 1 & 2 inline spinner and trackball buttons

The panel is a 4 player panel, with dual joysticks on player 1 & 2, each with eight buttons.  Player 1 & 2 will also have their own spinners as well as three more in-line buttons, some of which will double for trackball usage.  Player 3 & 4 simply have an 8-way stick plus 4 buttons of their own.  The panel also has some special controls which include a 4-way Ms Pac-man/Galaga stick, a Tron stick, and DOT spinner and four more in-line buttons which will also double for the trackball.

That is pretty sweet!

Is the lightning just a brush on photoshop? I can't find one :D

It's not exactly a brush.  It is plug-in called Xenofex.  I am using Lightning and Electrify from it.

Nice job! Looks really slick!  :applaud: Are you making it available for download?

Aren't you concerned about slamming your wrist into a joystick handle when playing a heated game of Golden Tee (or other intense trackball games)?

I am more a fan of Smash TV than Golden Tee, but I have played it with little problem on my old control panel, minus a badly placed spinner above the trackball which has been corrected in this revision.  It tried to make it where the joysticks were above 0 degrees but less than 45 degrees to reduce contact in "heated" trackball games.
