CRT pin missing ?
« on: March 04, 2009, 05:23:20 am »
Is it normal for a tube to sometimes have a "missing" pin ?

F.I. I've got a Philips A48EEV13X31 tube that uses a 10 pin (or should I say 9+1 ?) connector but one of the pins is missing. So I wonder if it maybe broken  or is this a common thing ?

saves the mfgr money .  no need to put it in if not used.

same reason "cheap" electronics have parts missing from the board . make a single pcb for all models and leave out the higher end parts for the cheap model.

or parts left out in the production run , but present in units submitted for UL/CSA certification...
