Discs of Tron Artwork (Enviro and Upright)
« on: February 22, 2009, 04:48:56 pm »
Hey guys,

Since I got back to the U.S. from my lengthy contract in Australia, I've been working non-stop to finish up a few projects I've been otherwise slacking on.  Namely, the SW Yoke and LL thruster.

However, I've been getting some flak about the Discs of Tron control panel overlay project which has been in limbo for some time now.  Well, in some recent dialogue (yesterday, in fact) with someone else, I realized that the upright version is different from the environmental version.  Oops!  The fact is that I've been working on the Environmental DoT version, not the upright DoT version.  I would like to reproduce both versions, however!

I don't know how I missed the fact that the upright and environmental versions were different, but I can compensate for it.  It's my fear that people have been waiting for the upright version the whole time I've been working on the environmental version.  The good news is that I'm almost done with the environmental version.  Further good news is that I can easily adapt what I have to make new films/screens for the upright version as well.  The bad news is that I don't have an upright DOT control panel overlay or control panel with the overlay attached to refer to, so I'm somewhat stuck.  I really must have an upright version overlay to get the proper measurements for the player 1/2 select buttons, the player 1/2 graphics and the extended graphic area at the bottom of the overlay.  It wouldn't hurt to be able to color match off of it, either.

So, does anyone have an upright CPO or control panel with overlay attached?  Borrow:  3-4 weeks tops, and it's back in your hands.  Buy:  Just let me know your price.

Thanks everyone.

I've got some DOT artwork (some I've created, others I found on the net)

Hey Steve,

Hmmm, lost my text and having to retype this....

Any chance you have a picture of the upright version of the control panel overlay??  I see two copies of the environmental version.

Anyhow, I snagged a photo of the upright discs of tron control panel from another thread on another site somewhere on the internet.  Note the difference in the panel - it has a lot of black color in the panel and it has TWO start buttons as opposed to only ONE start button used on the environmental control panel overlay.

I can almost use this photo as is, but I'd still like to get a CPO in my hands to color match from and to get precise measurements.... at the very least, a good photograph with no obstructions.

Thanks

David Adams
