Tekken 1 harness questions
« on: February 19, 2009, 04:56:23 pm »
Hi Guys

I bought Tekken my first arcade board, booted it up last like goodmorning loved that.

I have only 1 speaker plugged in. I have this http://www.jammaboards.com/store/namco-48-pin-kick-harness/prod_145.html?ccSID285e73f64c04744fc5f33ff68f529742=bb5629ec73e952e293e236d3ec6c65be

But I have no solder skills can I put quick connects on this, if so how and what do I need?

Where do I plug the speaker - + into this extra connector?

Thanks

Josh

No solder skills needed (nor recommended for things like harnesses, they should be modular to be removeable). All you need to do is pick up a crimp tool like this one http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/22-1795 and some 16 or 18 AWG quick disconnects and you're set. Crimper is a very easy to use tool and a necessity for this hobby, you can find them from anywhere between $10 and up.

The speaker does not connect to this at all. This only gives connection for 3 extra buttons per player and a extra ground wire per player, but you can just daisy chain from the other buttons for ground.
