High score saves in classic arcades?
« on: February 16, 2009, 11:41:59 pm »
Has anyone come up with a way (a magical chip from my fantasy world?) to get old arcade games to save high scores upon power down (damn you volatile memory!)?

I've got a few arcades that I love to push the high scores but they just disappear when I turn em off :(

I know its probably been asked 4,000 times but a man can dream can't he?

I've got a double dragon and vs super mario that mock me each time I turn them off :(

I don't know of kits for either of those games, but there are for a number of others.

If all else fails, you can hang a chalkboard  Barcade in Brooklyn never made this idea look better, especially since you need a ladder to change any of the scores. I'm totally on the prowl for one now

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I've got a dry erase board next to my cab, and another near the dart board.
