First 360 Stick

My first attempt at making something from wood! Not perfect but I learned enough to know how to do better next time. Thank you BYOAC woodworking forum, HamuraN, Kaytrim and Timoe for information and ideas.

Some generic pine from Home Depot, top panel is MDF. When it runs out I'm going to try poplar next.

The paint is actually pretty bad, its just harder to tell from the photo heheh. I got in a hurry at one point and ruined it, and the Rustoleum spray I was using just wasn't working either.

The process that I will try next time is sand-kilz-sand-kilz-sand-Krylon Fusion (the fan style nozzle on these worked great, let me save the project)-sand-spray-clear coat-sand clear coat. With a properly prepped surface this time I will get a mirror finish, heck even on a damaged surface this process gave nice results.

It was a black Madcatz.

If you have Circuit Cities in your area that are closing down, grab those cheap Madcatz pads.  ;D

There's none over here Im afraid.

I'm going to hack some wireless MS pads for mine. Its a shame Madkatz don't do a wireless version but you can pick up wireless MS pads for about £20 now anyway.

Try for the newest style PCBs. I'm a big fan of common ground, makes hooking up JLFs or 32-01s really fast and easy.

What he said.  Unfortunately, there's no easy way to tell from the packaging.  I bought a brand new controller from GameStop, opened it up, and it was the old style.  So I put it back together and took it back, and they hassled me about getting my money back.

The WalMart "Dragon" wireless controllers I have found are all the new PCB with the common ground.

I don't see why not... they should just be standard controllers with custom graphics screened on.
