PS2 to RGB - LM1881 Problem
« on: February 11, 2009, 12:20:26 pm »
I have tacked on to the R, G, B, Video Ground, Ground, and Composite pins from the inside of the PS2 before they go to the connector on the back. I am running my R,G,B lines into 220uF caps then directly to JAMMA. I am running the Video Ground directly to JAMMA and jumping it over to another ground. Finally, I am running the composite line to a LM1881 (powered +5v from JAMMA and GND too) sync splitter to grab the C-sync, and running that to JAMMA. After all this, my screen is scrambled and green. I can vaguely make out a pic through the scrambles. If I try using the sync on green, its the same deal. If I remove the green to elimite it's sync, its still scrabled and purple.

Any ideas appreciated!

Old thread on green tint problem on PS2.   Don't know if it will help but seems related.

Ah thanks for the link. Yes the green tint is for DVD playback only issue it seems due to the Macrovision copy protection chip but that link shows how to get around it.

I finally found my problem, going all the way back to the very beginning...I wired it backwards. I counted pins from right to left instead of left to right. Once I rewired it to the correct pins, it worked like a champ!

Thanks
