Question about this Zenith tube.....
« on: February 11, 2009, 02:04:51 am »
Got a 25' inch Zenith tube tonight with no neck board etc. Can I use a K7000 chassis with this monitor as long as the chassis is made for 25' inch tubes? The only concern is that on the monitor there is a Neotec sticker should this be a concern? Thanks for any help....

First off, it is a 27" not 25". The label says A68.... the 68 is the viewing size from corner to corner in centimeters. When converted to inches becomes 27".
next wat is important after that is the resolution the yoke was designed for> I tried to zoom in on the label on the yoke but could not read it.

Let us know what the part # is, if it is a Sanyo Yoke the number will start DAS..., then perhaps we can figure out the inductance.

Definitely a sanyo yoke. Odd though, I have a spreadsheet of yokes made by Sanyo just before they clsoed on anything they still had in production and it is not on it.

Best guess, but only a guess is it is a CGA/Standard res tube. If you had an inductance meter we could be certain??

Measure the resistance of the horizontal windings (Red and Blue lead). Resistance is definitely not the best way but in a pinch it may help. By the way when you measure the resistance first measure the resistance between your 2 meter leads and subtract that from the reading you get between the yoke leads.

OK I have very limited knowledge of monitors, so whats all the equipment i will need to measure resistance...

....read the thread in arcade miscellaneous, 'how to use a multimeter', as well as the monitor faq thread above.
