Nag Screen v.0.84 - I am so lost! Please help!
« on: February 05, 2009, 09:22:54 am »
I'm desperate to get rid of the nag screens on my MAME v.0.84 - it would mean I had my set up almost exactly how I want it.

I downloaded http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91067&package_id=95932

which will rid me of nag screens but I take it I have to compile it? Well, I'm totally new to compiling MAME and I haven't a clue where to start, what I need, where to get it and how to do it! I know threads like this are annoying but everyone has to start somewhere, right?

If anyone can please help, I'd be eternally grateful!

I don't think you need to recompile mame to remove screen from 0.84.

Try to run mame with parameter -skip_disclaimer -skip_gameinfo

ex :

mame pacman.zip  -skip_disclaimer -skip_gameinfo

you can also , i think disable from ini file.

Generate the mame.ini file (if you don't have it) using that command : mame -cc

Then look in the file , search for disclaimer  and gameinfo  and change the value to 1 or 0 .

It works only with old mame version, on recent ones it doesn't work i think.
