How is the yoke connector affixed to the board thingy? Can I just sort of pull it off?
The one that plugs into the main chassis just pulls off.
It "plugs" in.
Also, the guide I linked to shows the connectors as VH VH whereas yours portrays them as HH VV. Which is it (or how can I tell)?
Bob's guide shows both versions.... VH VH and VV HH.
The first is for a G07, the second is more typical of like what you have.
When in doubt..... Ohm it out.
You will get a lower reading on the horizontal winding, and typical ranges are from 2 to 12 ohms on the H winding & from 12 to 60 ohms on the V winding.
That will at the least tell you which two wires are a "pair" that go together.
If there is no continuity, then they do not go together.
DO NOT mix them up between vertical and horizontal. V with V , H with H
Yours should be setup just like the picture I posted.
One pair is spread further apart.
Only flip that pair on the same two pins.
Same goes for the other pair.
One pair flips it horizontally.
The other pair flips it vertically.
