I just ordered all new buttons and joysticks, so I took out the old ones. I want to do something with them, but not sure exactly what. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My cabinet is a 2 player (for now). Each player has a joystick, 6 buttons, P1 select and P2 select. I'm thinking of putting a green button in the corner for PC power on. I'll probably put a red one in the other corner to act as ESCAPE, so I can stop using the SHIFT function of my Ipac. I've also got 2 white buttons that will go on the side to serve as flipper buttons for pinball.

I have no need for volume buttons, because my sound is ran through my home stereo system.

If you have an extra red one, you could make a button that is labeled "do not push", like on this episode of Ren and Stimpy..

Wow. Flash back...

Anyhow, I spent weeks trying to think of neat stuf to do with extra arcade buttons. I could never pull off any of the designs, but my brother managed to set up some relay system to where the lights in the basement were controlled by a red arcade button on the wall. Looked sweet...

i'd say make a new control panel that you can sit on your lap or coffee table and use with console games (using a gamepad hack or something)

hehe brilliant space cadet csa3d.

how about you replace the buttons on your mouse with arcade buttons, or add a start button to your car.

Perhaps I should have clarified....tilt left, tilt right. Also could use for multi button pinballs like "The Shadow"

I don't think he was asking what you meant. I think he just missed the part where you said you were doing it.
