Monitor Troubles

I recently picked up a SFII Championship arcade in a dynamo z back cabinet.  When you power it up you get no video.  I can hear audio and play the game.  There are two knobs on the back of the chassis.  One looks to be focus and the other brightness.  If I turn the brightness one up I get a single line on the monitor.  Starts blue then changes to yellow and then orangish red color.  I know less than jack about dedicated boards and arcade monitors.  I have a pc and tv in my mame cab.  Attached are some shots of the back of the tube, chassis, and the screen.  When I picked it up there was a tag that the guy had taken off when they were working on it.  I thought I grabbed it but I can't find it and neither can the guy I bought it from.  I'm pretty sure it said Hanatrex Polo 25T but I'm not a 100%.  Is there another way to id this chassis?  I'm not sure what I need to do to start troubleshooting.

you have a hantarex mtc9000 monitor
check the remote board is plugged in correctly otherwise its dry solder joints or the vertical deflection ic or the voltage to the vertical deflection ic

I'm still a little nervous about working on monitors.  I reseated the cable in the remote board still same problem.  I have never discharged a monitor.  After I disconnect all the cables is it a better idea to discharge while it's still in the the cabinet or pull it out and then discharge?  I might make a few calls on Monday to see if there is someone in town who can work on this for me.  I'm torn I think this would be a good learning opportunity but I would rather not zap my self with eleventy billion volts.

actually that is a mtc9110 not a 9000 but they are almost the same bar some modifications

well if its not the remote board bad connection,vert size pot broken or bad solder joints on the yoke connector then you need to take a look at the vert deflection ic and its power input
i only have the schem for a mtc 9000 but they both use a tda1670a vert deflection ic,the power for this is rated at +24vdc
this is not a good job for a beginner tbh as to do it correctly would require reading voltages in some nasty areas of the chassis
my advice is to get the chassis out and send for repair or replace it with a generic type
always better to discharge if you can pull the entire monitor out
be careful of the plugs and the neck

I found a place in town that will repair monitors.  $60 an hour for labor + parts.  Assuming the vertical deflection ic is bad what do you think it would cost to get this fixed?  Also is $60/hour a good price for labor?

It's not terrible.  Chad @ ArcadeCup will repair it for a flat rate.

$100 doesn't sound bad.  Anybody else have other similar options?
