Touch Screen FE
« on: January 31, 2009, 02:39:28 pm »
Does anyone know of a good front end for a dedicated touch screen cabinet?  Mostly the cabinet is going to be running Nordbeat jukebox, but I want to be able to play touch screen games and switch between applications without having to plug a keyboard in (or use a wireless KB)

Ideally, something that would run in the background and stay hidden while another application is running, but still allow functionality...  For example, click-pattern hot-keying (if such a thing exists would be great. i.e. tap the top left corner of the screen 4 times and it sends an Alt-F4 to exit the current app.  Or something similar.

Thanks!

This one is very good.  I'd say try it and see if it meets your needs:

Hoopz,

I just downloaded it and started messing around with it a little bit.  It seems to do ALMOST everything I'm looking for.  The one thing I would still like to see is some sort of "hot click" system where tapping in a specific sequence would execute a command.

Although really, I think this will do everything I want to do nicely.  On the off chance that I do have some touchscreen app that I need a keyboard to exit, having a wireless keyboard nearby won't kill me.

Thanks much for your assistance!

That's actually a very good idea.  I will try to implement that in the next version.

Glad to help.  I have it running on a touch screen project but that project got shelved for a bit.  It's a great program by a great guy who gives it a lot of attention for us to use for free.  And he's pretty quick to respond to requests to.
