Help Identify This Video Conversion PCB
« on: January 20, 2009, 09:27:23 pm »
I found this in a box of stuff I bought a long time ago and I never figured out what it does. Either it converts RGB to composite or composite to RGB. (I put on a BNC->composite adapter) The only thing keeping me from understanding is the lack of identification. I have googled the numbers on the board and have come up empty handed. Also, I can clearly see the connector for the RGB, but there is another connector with Blue, Green and Black on it and I have no idea what this would connect to, probably a power source but no idea of the pinout. There is also a single post in the center that looks like a ground post found on a neck board. If I had to guess, I think this converts RGB to composite based on the labels on the pots, like Lum Bias etc.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks!

Appears to be the optional NTSC video to RGB conversion board for a Wells-Gardner K7000 series monitor. Allows the monitor to accept standard composite video from like a video camera, VCR, DVD player to be displayed on a k7000 monitor. The connector with the three wires plugs into "Option" connector P7 on the K7000 main board (many k7000's did not have this connector installed, so you would have install the male header connector on the k7000 main board).

Thanks Ken! Wow thats pretty interesting I had no idea there was something like that out there. This came in a box with a small 13" happ monitor i picked up for testing purposes. I actually just replaced my only K7000 chassis I had last weekend with a Wei-ya, I'm pretty sure it didn't have the optional connector but I'll go take a look at the pcb and see where it would go. I'm sure I'll run across more K7000s in time that I can use this for a fun project.

Thanks again!

The connector with the red-green-blue-black-yellow wires plugs into the usual video input connector on the k7000 main board.

That "option" connector was for the power source.
Been awhile since I messed with one........

I've been looking all over for something like that.
I have a WG 25K7193. I need to convert my RGB
so i can hook a DVD player to it and use it as a video installation.

Any idea were i can buy something like that?
