ZINC & MameWah
« on: June 23, 2003, 02:20:57 pm »
Does anyone have Zinc 0.9 working with MameWah .951b?  I have gotten the wrapper from Lazaurs' site, but still nothing.  I have multiple other emulators working.  I have tried all types of combos of settings from MameWah.  The best i have gotten to work is the Old Wrapper.  It seems that the Wrapper's Config file is working correctly B/C i get the Zinc window to open, but then everything turns white and it just hangs till i terminate the process.  i am using win2k.  I know that 2k has some DirectX issues, but i can run Zinc from the command line as well as from ZincGUI.  Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help.

I can only get a wrapper previous to v3.0 to work...otherwise the screen just goes black for a while and then returns to commandline.

The earlier wrapper works fine though, so just use that one for now...

Minwah,
  I am using the earliest version of the wrapper on lazarus' page and it still doesn't seem to work... I used your INI file you posted and nothing seems to do the trick.  I have read everything i can find...  what am i missing?  May be anything to do with using 2k?  That doesn't make sense to me cause i can use the command line just fine as well as the GUI...

So i finally figured it out!  You do NOT need the Extenstion NOR the Path Sent, thus both are false!  Thanks for putting up with my posts.

Well i got it running.  I didn't say anything about using special config files.  Minwah, do you know how to pass the cfg files (created by the GUIs) through the wrapper?  I've been playing with it at the command line and no luck yet.  The I-PAC will not matter.  It's all in the cfg files.  THe I-PAC is just send the assigned keys to the PC (plus some other code so ghosting and multi keys can be pressed...)

right but if you have ipac w/ jumper set to mame keys you have this setup

button1=l-ctrl
button2=l-alt
b3=space
--BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type--=l-shift
etc

so if you start zinc and hit your 3 buttons l-shift,l-alt,space, it will go screw!

do you have an ipac?

Yes, i have an I-PAC.  RIght now it isn't hooked up.  I am getting it all together first.  (i know if i hooked up the controls, w/partial games, i would never fix the other ones, just keep playing the ones that work).  What about changing the layout of the i-PAC to ALT, use SlikStik's config?  Looks like Shift keys are only used as button 7, for Neo Geo.  THen you could remap from their.  It will most likely mess with the rest of your emulators though.  Tough trade off.

I think the shift keys are used by some ZiNc renderers...use a different one (the Glide one I think)...
