long loading time in mame?

Hi,
       Since installing all the roms in to mame the loading time for a game seems to have gone up quite a bit? Is this normal or is there something I can do to improve it?
       Other option is am I imagining it? (I dont think I am)

if it takes longer to load when all roms are present, I would say it's not a mame issue. I'd bet your drive is heavily fragmented or you drive is near capacity.

I agree!  MAME is only loading the ROM set you specify.  The other ROMS have no affect.
