For some reason i cant run nba jam properly sometimes works fast then sometimes choppy

and i have nothing running in the background

please help

What's your PC setup?
What version of MAME are you using?

pentuim 4 2 ghz
xp sp3
256 mb video card

i have mame plus v 0.123

try getting rid of the rom and redownloading and opening the file

try turning on tripple buffer in your ini file, are you having the same issues with any other games?

do you have any antivirus software or anything on your pc?  512mb of ram is not really alot.  i noticed that on my cabinet, MK3 played much better after upgrading from 512mb to 1gb of ram.  and since ram is cheap, it is a worthwhile purchase
