I came across a Sega emulator (Daytona, Sega Rally) etc the other day which got me wondering:

Has any of the buck hunter (or similar shooting games) been emulated (not necessarily to MAME, even if it has a dedicated emulator)?

The second part of the question is, if I had an original arcade shotgun, would there be a way to interface it with the PC to work with the emulator(s)?

  • Insufficient facts always invite danger.
Deer Hunter is emulated in Mame. It uses standard light guns. Not sure about interfacing an arcade shotgun, though.

BBH is still doing well in bars, pool halls, etc far as I can tell. The seemingly latest version I played over Christmas with brother when he visited and it looked pretty great, but the game is just fun anyways.

I was told this game was a PC and Mame would never emulate it.
I guess its time to up grade.

I have the PC version of one of these too (I cant remember which)... the trouble was I was using USB TopGuns which A) are pistols, not shotguns, and B) tend to 'drag' like a mouse rather than having the required 'flick & shoot' responsiveness of an arcade gun.

I just couldn't stand playing it without the proper shotgun, and as far as I know, there are no PC shotguns, at least not that would rival a proper shotgun from a BH cabinet? Hence the question of whether it could be interfaced to the PC somehow.

may be possible to put your lightgun guts in a arcade shotgun case.
