My first attempt at a Cab
« on: January 01, 2009, 07:07:42 pm »
Hi Guys

Well I've finally finished my first attempt at building a MAME cab.

I originally started my project approx 3 years ago.  I got as far as ordering a load of control bits and getting the MDF cut from UA II plans (yes another one!) when for various reasons I had to put it on the back burner.

Well I finally got round to it again mid September and now 3 1/2 month later I'm finished (well as finished as you could ever be!)

Hope you like it.

Internals
Pentium 4 - 3Ghz
512m ram
150 gig harddrive
MAME .127
Mala Front End
Arcade VGA Mk 2

Monitor
Hantarex Polo 2 - 28"

Controls
2 x Happ P360's with Slik Stik LED ball tops
1 x Ultimarc T-Stik plus
Ultimarc U-Trak
Slik Stik Tornado Spinner
Blue, Red and Green Happ pushbuttons with LED's fitted
Mini Ipac
2 x Pac-Drive's

The T Stik is not wired up at the moment and I probably won't bother as I'm more than happy with how the P360's perform with 4 way games. I'll probably end up changing them for a set of Ultrastiks in the future.  The T-Stik will be taken out and replaced with a Tron style stick at some point too.

As I'm sure you've noticed the player 1 stick is on the 'wrong side'.  Just my personal preference.

Still playing around with Mala and some of the resolutions.

A special thanks to the guys at Mame Marquees and Andy at Ultimarc for the quality of their products and the after sales support they have provided.

Now I just need to start planning the next one............
