Ideas for an 80s themed birthday party please? :)
« on: December 30, 2008, 02:52:08 pm »
Its my 36th this year!  :o  and I'm having an 80s themed birthday party!  The cab will be in the front room, it'll be fancy dress, I'll have 80s music of course, and some classic 80s TV clips playing all night.  I'll have a rubiks cube on the coffee table, along with some nintendo game&watches, etc :)

Looking for more ideas to make this THE 80s party to remember!

Suggestions welcome!

Get a bunch of those hand-held video games that were so popular back then -- like football, baseball, etc.  I used to have a topgun hand-held and a gauntlet hand-held.

I actually got a hand-held version of guitar hero for Christmas this year -- i know it's a new game, but it's the same idea.

cool idea :)  I'll see what I can find!

Also, I might try and get a TomyTronic!  I used to love mine back then! :)

80's?  So youd've been in the 8-17 range?

Spin the bottle, duh. :)
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

Make some tetris shelves and display some additional 80's knick knacks on those. They would be nice to have after the party as well...

MAN, I LOVE those Tetris shelves!

I'm going to make some for my daughters bedroom, they'd look really cool - especially painted the game block colours!

Good luck with the party - sounds like a great idea ... erm., leg warmers!

Formal dress? That takes some of the fun out of 80's "fashion"... :)

Don-Johnson style white suit jacket with a bright flourescent  pink T-shirt! Pant-leg "pegging."

Get a "Merlin" game. Remember those? That was 80's, I think. Atari 2600...

Skinny ties... Flourescent colors... Hip-bags... Farrah Fawcett posters... Bo Derek from "10" poster. Man, be careful, you could end up spending way too much money to do all this! You'll have to post pictures of it after it happens.

Set up some vintage 80's consoles around the house for people to try.  Most people have not seen let alone played an Atari 2600 for 20 years and would get a kick out of it.
