Question for Howard C.--emusaver
« on: June 21, 2003, 04:08:14 pm »
I have recently downloaded emusaver 2.1 and have attempted to get it installed.  I followed step 1--used the commandline and the rom launched perfectly, so step 1 was fine.  Step 2 was also followed and emusaver is now one of my desktop screensaver options in windows.  For step 3, I defined the emulator path with the settings box and then hit preview.  I get the "please wait" message, but the randomly selected game does not load.  Have tried several times.  I am using it for MAME and the path is C:\mame\roms for the games, and C:\mame\mame.exe for the executable path.  Not sure what could be going wrong--the randomly selected game does not get loaded and the "please wait" screen just stays on screen without ever selecting a game.  If i directly load the rom through commandline, it works.  But anything to do with randomly selecting a rom, doesnt seem to work. I am running Win 98SE.  Any ideas?? I really like the idea behind this screensaver so I hope I can find the problem and that it can work as there are none others out there that I can see that do the same functions as a screensaver.
Thanks for any help.

The path to emulator does not include the emulator itself.

type c:\mame\ for the path and you should be ok.
