tattoo artwork
« on: December 22, 2008, 05:02:05 am »
I'm trying to come up with an arcade themed tattoo... the only issue is I really don't want to sit down with the tattoo guy for a few hours with nothing, I'd like to come up with a basic idea, but others are way better at photoshop and artwork in general than me... anyone want to design something for me?

It's gotta have the following:

arcade machine (i dont care if it's the whole thing or just buttons and a stick or something but it's got to have something to do with arcade machines)
street fighter (ryu, akuma, or sagat)
sonic (the classic sonic, like this one http://home.thezone.net/~jhayter/SONIC.jpg
mario (either a classic mario that looks decent, or this paper mario one http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v431/wizokraut/PaperMario.jpg
galaga (anything to do with galga, it's before my time (born in 83) but galaga is my all time favorite, it has a special place with me)

so there ya go... if someone could give me some ideas on how to put all this together, or come up with a background or someway to integrate it all, or even come up with decent reference pics for the stuff listed, that would be of so much help! I want to have reference pics and stuff if not a whole mockup done so when I bring it to the artist i can basically print it out and say hey, i want what's on this paper... know what I mean? Well I'd appreciate anyone's help. THANKS!

Are you male or female, and where do you want it?
Don't do Mario or Sonic. They are childish and NOT arcade!

Female galaga:

mario's not from the arcade blanka? think you may get people disagreeing with that. ;)

as for the tattoo the combination of images sounds messy , thats not to say a good design couldnt pull it together, gonna be a big tattoo though if theyre all in there.
i'd pick your favourite and concentrate on that, if its your first tattoo, you'll want more anyway i'm told by the ink addicts
got COLOR codes from projects, post them here

add stuff to the uk wiki section

I forgot the stupid Joust clone Mario Bros. Thought he got his "Mario" name on the NES in SMW first. In arcades I only remember him as anonymous slave of Donkey Kong. Here in non-arcade Europe he was infamous until the NES title anyway.

I'm male... I know it's going to be hard to put all those together... it was gonna be on my upper arm...but it's probably not going to all fit so it'll have to be on my back... it's my third tat...

rethinking things... mario is alright, first character that stuck with me from nes and stuff... but mario is kind of childish these days, not really into anything but classic mario now...I think a sonic design would look way better in terms of artistic appeal...sonic is still classic gaming (not super old, but it was also from my childhood like mario)...so it works... I'll go with sonic on my upper arm...then I'll get a streetfighter one somewhere else... I was born after galaga even came out... (1983) so getting anything with galaga would feel weird...

so yea...

cliffs notes:
getting sonic tattoo on upper arm, that's good enough for my retro gaming tattoo (i don't need every game from my childhood tattooed on me, and I happen to like old school sonic, and the dreamcast, that's more than I can say for nintendo, after super mario world, I was pretty much done with him until briefly with the n64)
possibly sf tattoo in the future

here's my Akuma tattoo:

what you want doesnt really sound like it would go together well. spaceships and hedgehogs? How'd about Sagat playing a galaga machine?
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.
