maximus zsnes help...roms loading slowly

All of a sudden my super nintendo roms are taking forever to load in zsnes...about 30 seconds?? They used to load up quickly.


I've tried everything I can think of in the preferences. Any ideas? 

I'm running:

maximus
amd 2.9
1 gig ram
