Trying to decide whether these games would be really fun family games or whether these games "get old fast" ........ anyone play these before and care to share some comments?

I didn't like carnival games... kids didn't like it either...  Luckily we only rented it... but 1/2 hour later we moved on.

Based on the quick reviews I saw that is what I assumed

Does anyone like "Mercury Meltdown Revolution"?

Carnival Games plays better if you download and install an established save file. Most of the lameness comes from having to work your way through all the crap to get to the good stuff. WTF were the designers thinking? It isn't a ---smurfing--- fighting game with hidden characters to unlock.

I've read the new Wii update prevents people from loading in save games from other consoles? I've been avoiding the latest update for this reason but I don't think I can hold out for long.

none of my nieces or nephews liked either carnival games. said CG was boring and not fun and the minigolf was just not fun.

I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

  • Home of Three Squares dice game
    • Beaker Games
Carnival Games got about an hour of play time.  There was just nothing there worth working for.  I even turned my mother on to it since she's a casual games freak, and she found little of substance.
Haven't tried the other two you mentioned, and I now don't think I'll even consider the mini-golf game unless someone happens to have it available while I'm visiting.

There's something to those carnival games. I was at Wal*Mart and I counted at least half a dozen carnival-like games and probably another half-dozen of those mini-bar type games where some of the games seem to be shared with the carnival games.

The mini-game superset seem to be the Wii's staple play mechanics, like the side scroller for the NES or the move-along-the-bottom-and-shoot-objects-near-the-top games for the 2600.

  • Greetings Program!
Well I must be in the minority.
I liked Carnival Games, and my kids did too.
We've had it for about 8 months now, and that's the game they always go back to play.
My oldest daughter has unlocked all the super games, and likes editing her character with all the different clothes you can buy with tickets.
