MAME help : Remapping the TAB config key...
« on: December 17, 2008, 06:23:31 pm »
Can someone please help me where to manually remap the TAB key to pull up the config menu while a game is running in MAME?  I'm sure this is in a config file somewhere.  It seems someone playing my cabinet changed this.  I've plugged in a keyboard and tried all the keys with no luck.

Thanks in advance!

Easiest thing to do is delete the default.cfg file in the cfg folder, but you'll lose all the other remaps saved in that file (everything you remapped using "Input (general)" menu).

Or you can open that file in a text editor, and search for "UI_CONFIGURE".  Delete that <port...>... to the next </port>, or just look and see what it's changed to.

Also, this is a mame FAQ.
