Mapping U360 with LED Blinky
« on: December 05, 2008, 07:44:05 pm »
Could some one tell me what LED Blinky needs to load different MAPs into the U360?  I currently have the controls.ini for MAME but in the LED config when I try and point it to that file it doesn't see it so I'm guessing that's not what it's looking for.  I'm using Hyperspin as the FE but I assume this association has to be made in the Blinky config. I can't seem to find any how to's on this either.

Thanks

P

To use LEDBlinky for the u360 only (no LEDs), all you need to do is set the path to mame.xml and controls.ini (on the mame tab), and check the 'UtltraStik 360' and 'No LEDs Mode' options (on the Misc Options tab). For HyperSpin, you must be using the latest beta version 7.0.0.3 and enable the LEDBlinky options on HyperHQ.

Arzoo, thank you very much! Great software by the way :applaud:. I still have yet to fully exploit all it's features.  I have the RGB / ICE buttons from Groovey currently lit solid with the resident software. Looking forward to adding to the bling 8)

Have a good weekend.

arzoo,

For now I would like to only use LEDBlinky to program the U360's.  I have checked the U360 box, No-Led option, set paths to both my controllers.ini and mame.cfg files.  I have the latest exe for HyperSpin. Hyperspin log shows that Blinky is launched - also confirmed in the task bar.  The maps, however, don't seem to load.  Just playing a quick round of Ms. Pacman confirms this ( much different when i load the 4-way using the resident software that came with the U360's ).  I am also running MAME .97 and the controls.ini is also from .97.  There are no error logs generated in Blinky either. Any suggestions?   One more thing, is there any way to keep LEDblinky from sending out the all off signal to the LEDwiz? I'm currently using the LEDwiz resident software in start-up to light the buttons, when Blinky kicks in at the start of Hyperspin it kills the lights.

Thanks

P

Portnoy,
You can turn on the LEDBlinky log to see what's going on - from the config app on the Misc Options tab, check 'Enable Debug Log' and 'Verbose'. Run HS and Pacman, then look for the debug.log file in the ledblinky folder. Post the file here or email it to me.

As for the LEDBlinky turning off all the LEDs at start, here's a workaround that might work; from the config app, uncheck the 'No LEDs Mode' option and on the Hyperspin tab set the path to the HyperSpin Settings.ini file. Then open the LEDBlinky settings.ini file (using notepad.exe) and find the DeviceListOverride key. Set it to this:
DeviceListOverride=000000000000000100000000
