Monitor ID help?
« on: December 01, 2008, 07:15:57 pm »
hello,

i just announced my project (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=87099.0) and i'm wondering what my monitor is. the ID pages linked in the FAQ didn't help here.

here's the chassis:

(the text on the left end of the board says DS-2907M Rev. 1.. and the yellow thing in the middle says DST-2907CV. searches on both weren't any help)

it probably came with the cabinet, which is the 29" version here: http://www.andamiro.com/eng/business/business_04.html
though the manual never mentions any specifics about a monitor. based on the original game's dipswitches and the fact that it runs MAME/windows just fine in all sorts of resolutions (probably needs a degaussing.. which i'll get into sometime) makes me think it's 15-31kHz multisync.

i was also wondering about its connection to the power supply:

where the Korean plug goes into the flat type (i'm in Canada - 110V), which says 250V.
i guess the voltage is converted at some step along the way (if need be).. i know it ran in an arcade here for years.

any help much appreciated.

the plugs look like the ducksan/tatung monitors that you used to find in megatouch cabs

yeah, it does have a VGA plug... so i put it right into the arcadeVGA.
funny i forgot to mention that.

anyway, thanks! i'll have to research these things. does it mean anything significant for running MAME?
all the horizontal games seem to be playing great. i'm currently running vertical games at 640x480 with hwstretch, since 288 vertical lines just makes the monitor flicker. i'll try something with a few less lines..

anyone have any thoughts on the power cord issue?
