Who uses an LG Rumor ?
« on: December 01, 2008, 11:49:27 am »
I'm looking at getting an LG Rumor so I can do easy texting and Windows Messenger without paying outrageous monthly fees (which is what using a Blackberry would incur, for those of you about to say "just get a Blackberry" !!) and still have a full QWERTY keypad.

Any of you here currently using one? Happy? I keep reading complaints about defective units and slow typing, but the unit's been available since 2006, and I'm hoping some improvements have been made to them since then. (And you also know what they say about the vocal minority, so there's that to consider too. Could be the people with broken phones are all 14 year olds who sat on them or something).

Do yourself a favor and get a HTC Artemis or P3300 mobile phone with Mobile 6 Professional.

The phone is well made and packs a ton of features, powerful enough for full divx and Xvid playback, and plays MAME very well too.

I used to work in Mobile Phones in the UK - and LG are good but not the best phone for non voice communications.

I have the XDA Orbit, which has full wifi, GPS and BT 2.0 Stereo.  It is the same phone, and the battery life is excellent. - You should be able to get the phone cheaper as it is a year old.  Stay clear of the Orbit 2, unless you like your battery to die when you least expect it.

Fat chance of that. Don't bother buying a phone if you don't know about any existing upgrades or improvements.
